Perez Hilton Hospitalised After Police Respond to Welfare Concern at Miami Home

Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton was taken to a Miami hospital after police responded to his home following reports of concerning activity during a TikTok livestream.

The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office confirmed that deputies were dispatched after receiving multiple emergency calls from viewers who were worried about Hilton's welfare during the broadcast.

Authorities said officers spoke with family members at the scene and confirmed Hilton was alone inside the property. Deputies initially adopted a de-escalation approach while monitoring the situation.

"In many incidents involving a person experiencing a mental health crisis or actively harming themselves, deputies prioritise de-escalation by creating time, distance, and opportunities for communication," the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

The department explained that, unless there is an immediate threat to others, slowing the situation and using crisis intervention techniques can reduce the risk of harm to everyone involved.

Several hours later, authorities confirmed Hilton had been safely located and transported by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to a local hospital for medical treatment.

The Sheriff's Office also said its Crisis Response Unit and licensed mental health professionals remained at the scene to provide support and resources to Hilton's family.

Officials confirmed Hilton was alone at the time of the incident. He is the father of three children, all born via surrogacy.

No update has been provided on his condition.

The livestream was removed from TikTok, and Hilton's account has since been suspended.

In a statement to TMZ, Hilton's representatives, Golden Artists Entertainment co-CEOs Dante Rusciolelli and Rebekah Kochan, said they were aware of the situation but had not yet been able to speak with him directly.

"Our primary concern is Perez's health and well-being, as well as the well-being of his family," they said. "Until we have confirmed information, we will not speculate or comment further. We appreciate everyone's concern and ask that his privacy be respected during this time."

The incident comes just months after Hilton revealed he had spent 21 days in hospital while recovering from sepsis, which he said developed following complications after taking flu medication on an empty stomach.

During his stay at Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Centre in Las Vegas, he underwent two surgeries and was treated for several serious medical issues.

Throughout his recovery, Hilton shared messages on social media describing his faith as a source of strength. He later said the experience had transformed his outlook on life and career.

Hilton said he believed his recovery strengthened his relationship with God and helped him come to terms with mistakes he made earlier in his career as a celebrity blogger.

He acknowledged that many of his past actions were "awful decisions" that he deeply regrets, saying he has apologised publicly and privately for them over the years.

Although he says his perspective has changed, Hilton maintained that he has not left entertainment reporting behind, arguing that his work today is focused on celebrity journalism rather than gossip.
